ST. PETERSBURG — David A. Mack Properties has proposed a 35-story tower with 306 apartment units, 8,834 square feet of commercial space, and 505 parking spaces for the former Grand Bohemian Hotel site located on the northwest corner of First Avenue N and Second Street, across from Jannus Landing. The site was purchased in late September for $8.75 million. After receiving approval from the city and the Federal Aviation Authority, construction is expected to begin by the end of this year.

A second luxury apartment tower will be built across from the Publix shopping center on 3rd Street South. American Land Ventures plans a 22-story, 210 unit tower on the northern half of the block between 3rd and 4th Streets South and 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Construction should begin late  this year.

The lease marks the third major deal for Feldman Equities, which acquired the tower last year. Earlier this year, Twinlab Consolidation Corp. leased two floors and banker Lopez Gassler leased a floor. The 17-story office building is currently undergoing an extensive renovation, which should be completed in early 2016.
