Race to July 4!

The 36th Annual Kiwanis-Virginia Street Dermatology Midnight Run is set for July 3 and early July 4.

DUNEDIN — More than 2,500 runners and walkers are expected for the 36th yearly Kiwanis Midnight Run, which actually consists of three events — a 1-mile run/walk set for 11 p.m. July 3, a 5K race beginning at 11:25 p.m. July 3 and a 10K starting at 12:15 a.m. July 4.   The staging area is the Causeway  Shopping Center at the intersection of U.S. Alt. 19 and Curlew Road.

All the runs start at the shopping center, head west on Causeway Boulevard to their respective turnaround points, then finish at the shopping center.

Earlier in the evening, a Hometown USA Celebration takes place at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 373 Douglas Ave. The Dunedin Blue Jays take on the Brevard County Manatees in a 6:30 p.m. game. Fireworks follow the game and the Greg Billings Band will entertain immediately after the fireworks.  The event is free, but tickets must be obtained at the box office.  For more information, visit http://Dunedingov.com.
