Plant City Man Accused of Robbery, Child Abuse

He threatened the juvenile with a gun, Hillsborough deputies said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Plant City man has been accused of using a gun to steal a phone from a juvenile, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cody Leon Henderson, 25, of Plant City, was charged with one count each of Robbery (Firearm; Less Than $300), Child Abuse and False Imprisonment.

Deputies said that, about 8 a.m. Dec. 9, Henderson approached the juvenile and the two began talking. During the course of the conversation, Henderson produced a small weapon and placed it against the juvenile’s torso and demanded the juvenile unlock their phone and remove the security pass code.

The juvenile did so. Henderson snatched the phone and fled the scene.

The juvenile identified identified Henderson from a photo lineup. Deputies arrested Henderson on Thursday (Jan. 10).
