War Veterans Park Boat Ramp in Pinellas to Remain Closed

War Veterans Memorial Park | Battlefield Cross Memorial | Pinellas County

The boat ramp, which has been closed for repairs, was scheduled to re-open this weekend. That has been postponed about a week.

SEMINOLE – The closure of the boat ramp at War Veterans’ Memorial Park has been extended to let crews finish improvements to the ramp area and entry road. The ramp was originally scheduled to be closed from July 18 to Sunday (July 26) so contractors could pour new concrete for the ramp, resurface the park’s entry road and boat ramp area parking lot, replace curb and enlarge parking spaces for vehicles with boat trailers.  A few additional days are needed to finish the curb and allow the new concrete and asphalt to cure. Weather permitting, the ramp is expected to be open by next weekend (July 31-Aug. 2).

War Veterans’ Memorial Park is a 122-acre park at 9600 Bay Pines Blvd. along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent to the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center and the city of Seminole. The park is home to a Battlefield Cross Monument honoring Pinellas County’s fallen military service members who died during the Gulf War Era. The park includes plaques commemorating each branch of the military, a Korean War-era Army tank, a nature trail, a playground and picnic shelters.
