Tarpon Springs, Boy Scouts Join for Armed Forces Day Celebration

The Flags for Freedom event, scheduled Saturday (May 16) will feature a ceremony to retire worn and tattered flags.

TARPON SPRINGS – The city and Boy Scout troops 48, 106, and 9 are inviting people to join them in honoring veterans and active military by celebrating Armed Forces Day with a ceremony to retire the worn and tattered flags that have shown our pride for this nation.  Bring your family, a folding chair, and your love for your country. Worn flags needing to be retired may be brought to the event or may be dropped off at various locations throughout Tarpon Springs before the event. Flags for Freedom is scheduled at 6 p.m. Saturday (May 16) at Sunset Beach, 1800 Gulf Road. For more information, or to find out where to drop off a flag, see susansriley.wix.com.
