Upcoming Boyd Hill Workshops Focus on Ecology, Environmental Arts

Several workshops for kids are scheduled. Here are the first two.

ST. PETERSBURG —  Get the children back to nature this winter with arts and crafts, stories and outdoor hikes at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

Nature’s Elements – Learn about ecology with crafts, live animals, stories and songs in the classroom and on the trails as Amalia Fernand takes kids on an adventure on Feb. 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $10. Ages 3 to 6.

Nature’s Explorers – Go on another adventure with Fernand as she guides hands-on projects in the classroom and out on the Boyd Hill trails,  Feb. 18, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ecology lessons are geared towards ages 7 to 11. Cost is $10.
