The Saturday (Feb. 11) event is open to all ages at the Azalea Outdoor Fitness Zone.

ST. PETERSBURG  — All ages are invited to the 9 a.m. community workout Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Azalea Outdoor Fitness Zone, 1600 72nd St. N.

Parking is available near the tennis courts. Register at facebook.com.

Following a warm-up, everyone can work out on the zone’s personal training equipment alongside the Wellness Champions, including Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin. Participants are encouraged to wear workout clothes and bring a water bottle. There is no age limit to participate; waivers will be available for children under 18.

It’s not too late to join St. Petersburg’s free virtual Fitness Challenge. From now through March 31, everyone has an opportunity to get moving by choosing from five fitness categories, online exercises from SmithBuilt Fitness, and motivational tips from our Wellness Champions.

Fitness Challenge commitment cards will be available during Saturday’s workout or at healthystpetefl.com. In addition to improved health and wellness, challenge participants who sign the online pledge receive weekly emails with fitness and nutrition tips, local opportunities to get moving, and are entered for prize drawings.

Participants may also share their journey by following their category’s champion on Facebook or share on Twitter using #HealthyStPete. On April 1, everyone’s invited to participate in the communitywide Healthy St. Pete Fit City Celebration in North Straub Park, featuring a 5K, a 1-mile walk, fitness demonstrations, wellness vendors and refreshments.
