Tribute Concert Set In St. Petersburg for Family of Murdered Police Officer

The tribute concert for the family of Tarpon Springs police Officer Charles Kondek starts at 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 28) at Ferg’s, 1320 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG – On Dec. 21, 2014, Officer Charles Kondek was shot and killed in the line of duty while investigating a noise complaint in Tarpon Springs. Officer Kondek, known to his friends as “Charlie K,” was a 17-year veteran with the Tarpon Springs Police Department, a husband and father of six. Officer Kondek was the fourth police officer killed in the line of duty in Pinellas County in the last five years. Officer Kondek will be honored Saturday (Feb. 28) with a free tribute concert organized by Reflections Entertainment, owned by Sergeant Jim Campbell of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, and Allan “Mac” McTavish, a 30-year veteran of the St. Petersburg Police Department.
