Like Swimming in Cold Water? Try the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim

Frogman Swim | Navy SEALs | Distance Swim

The swim is a 31-mile open water swim from St. Petersburg to Tampa to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation.

TAMPA BAY – Registration is open for the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim that splashes off from Gandy Beach in St. Petersburg about 8:20 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 17). The swim ends about 11 a.m. at Picnic Island in Tampa with an after-party and awards ceremony at Hula Bay Waterfront Bar & Grill,  5210 W Tyson Ave. in Tampa.

The 31-mile open water swim began in 2010 to raise money for a severely injured, active-duty Navy SEAL. The run has since evolved into an annual event with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Navy Seal Foundation, which supports wounded and fallen Navy SEALs. The proceeds to the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim will be used to provide injury assistance to Navy SEALs and tragedy assistance for families who have lost a loved one in training or combat. The goal is to provide support for the Naval Special Warfare Community and perpetuate the history and heritage of the U.S. Naval Commandos.

For information abut the swim, go to tampabayfrogman.com. To register (registration is capped at 175 participants but there is also a virtual frogman challenge), go to imathlete.com.
