Bodega on Central Avenue was honored, along with two cafes in Tampa.

ST. PETERSBURG — Bodega, at 1120 Central Ave., has been ranked among the best 20 restaurants in the United States to find a Cuban Sandwich. In Tampa, Brocato’s at 5021 E. Columbus Drive, and the West Tampa Sandwich Shop, 3904 N Armenia Ave. also made the list.

In comments made by a reviewer identified as LoveD Love, Bodega was cited for its “awesome lechon and Cuban sandwiches!!!”Lechon is a popular pork dish. Typing in capital letters, LoveD Love suggested Bodega is a place to “STOPPPPPPP!”

The survey was compiled by the search service Foursquare, for Yahoo! Food.  Of the 20 restaurants listed, seven are in Florida. Besides the St. Pete and Tampa cafes, there were three cited in Miami and one in West Palm Beach.
