ST. PETERSBURG — The public is invited to a free introductory session to learn more about the home buying process. KICKOFF 2016: The Year of Home Ownership in St. Petersburg is a workshop to be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pinellas Technical College, 901 34th St. S.

 Topics include an overview of the home buying process, purchase assistance, how to qualify for a loan and more. The session also includes a complimentary lunch and door prizes.

 Pre-registration is required. Please RVSP by Jan. 27 at 727-442-7075 or email admin@nhsfl.org.

 The event is presented in partnership with the city of St. Petersburg, Neighborhood Home Solutions and the Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation. The program is designed to help qualified families become homeowners and maintain their home.

 Representatives from the city, NHS, TBCDC and lender partners will be available for one-on-one counseling sessions with prospective homebuyers. Attendees can register to participate in the home ownership program, which takes prospective homebuyers through a series of classes and offers one-on-one sessions.
