Pinellas Sheriff Accuses Tae Kwon Do Instructor of Molesting Two Children

Andrew Jin Kim | Pinellas Sheriff | Arrested

The molestation happened at the Tae Kwon Do studio in Seminole where the man was an instructor, deputies say.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A St. Petersburg man has been charged with molesting two girls, who were 6 and 7 years old when the alleged touching happened, according to Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies.

Arrested Friday (Feb. 5) and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation was Andrew Jin Kim, 23, of  6335 23rd Ave. N, St. Petersburg.

Deputies said the investigation began Jan. 27 when one of the victims told her mother that the suspect touched her inappropriately. The mother, in turn, contacted the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. The victims’ names are being withheld because of their ages.

Deputies said they determined that, between 2014 and 2015, Kim touched both female children in an inappropriate manner while they were undressed. Kim then instructed the children to keep the incidents a secret. Kim knew the children from his job as an instructor at Oh’s Tae Kwon Do, 7520 Seminole Blvd., Seminole. Deputies said Kim admitted touching the children. They arrested him and took him to the Pinellas County Jail.

Deputies said they believe there may be more victims because Kim may have had contact with other children through his job. They are asking that anyone with information regarding this investigation or any other potential victims contact Deputy M. Kolenda at (727) 582-6200.
