A bicycle ride Sunday (April 19) features the places Jack Kerouac frequented in St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Kerouac in Paradise Slow Ride and Shuffle Party is Sunday (April 19) starting at the St. Pete Shuffle Club, 559 Mirror Lake Drive N. Registration is at 2 p.m. and the ride starts at 3 p.m..

Sponsored by New Belgium Brewing, the bicycle tour honoring Beat Era writer Jack Kerouac winds through the city. Guides will talk about the author and his time here. Riders return to the shuffleboard courts where music, free shuffleboard, games and other activities will take place from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. New Belgium beer will be available.

As part of the ride, the St. Pete Bike Co-op is presenting a slow race in which the last to finish wins. Prizes will be awarded and a New Belgium Cruiser by Felt Bikes will be raffled. Tickets for the ride and the party are $10. Tickets for the party only are $5. Tickets also will be available at the door.
