Expect some neighborhood road restrictions associated with the work.

ST. PETERSBURG — Following emergency seawall repair and replacement, city of St. Petersburg Water Resources workers will begin work Wednesday (Jan. 25), to replace both potable and reclaimed piping in Venetian Isles along Grand Canal Boulevard between Overlook Drive NE and Massachusetts Avenue NE.

Crews will begin milling the road for resurfacing. Motorists using Grand Canal Boulevard should be aware of temporary lane restrictions, including closures, during the next two weeks.  Bridge access will be limited to one lane through this weekend.

Beginning Monday (Jan. 30), both lanes of Grand Canal Boulevard will be closed to allow excavation and pipeline installation. Crews hope to open at least one lane by Feb. 4, before restoring curbing and landscaping the following week.
