Boo! St. Pete Sets Up its Halloween Scare Schedule

The next two weekends have ghouls galore.

ST. PETERSBURG —  Halloween fun in St. Petersburg continues with Parks and Recreation’s Howl-O-Fest Oct. 23-24, and wraps up with TASCO teen programs’ Field of Screams Quarantine Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.  Some details:

This year’s Howl-O-Fest is Friday and Saturday (Oct.  23-24) from 6-10 p.m. at Boyd Hill Environmental Studies
Area, 2900 31st Street S. Admission is $5 per person. Activities include inflatable games, art and crafts, airbrush tattoos, Kids “Minions Trail” and live entertainment featuring fire dance shows at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. “A Viking Tale of Terror” show is 7-9 p.m. The festive trick or treat cabins will offer free goodies to all participants; trick or treat bags are provided. You can also enjoy $1 hay rides and a $1 spooky trail. Carnival-style concessions will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit city of St. Petersburg TASCO Teen Programs. TASCO’s 10th annual Field of Screams “Quarantine” is 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 29-Nov. 1. It’s also at the Boyd Hill Environmental Studies Area.  Teens and adults are invited (if they dare).  Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. You will be challenged to navigate through the dark woods, make it out of the village, break out of the decontamination tent, escape the safe house and flee to safety. Participants are exposed to darkness, loud noises, bright lights, wooded trails and intense scare zones. This activity is not suitable for children, so parental discretion is advised.
