A federal grant will pay for new berths on the approach to the city marina.

ST. PETERSBURG – Seagoing visitors and nautical nomads will soon get more space at St. Petersburg’s marina on Second Avenue NE.  Plans call for a dozen new docks east of the current docks on the approach to the Pier. Work won’t start until plans are completed for the new Pier. The $632,000 project is being paid for by a Federal Fish and Wildflife Commission grant. Transient docks were among the amenities residents called for during public discussion of Pier renovations. For information about the new Pier, see newstpetepier.com.
