The three-day event will showcase a huge number of boats and accessories.

ST. PETERSBURG — If you are more into boats than the fast cars of this weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix , you can take in the Tampa Bay Boat Show, which opens today (March 11) at Tropicana Field and will run through Sunday. The show opens at 10 a.m. each day. Admission to the indoors nautical extravaganza is free, but parking is $5 on the Tropicana lot.

Nearly 100 dealers will showcase boats of all sizes and an array of marine accessories. Event organizers say the show offers a nice sampling of the marine marketplace and allows potential buyers to compare models in one location.

Also on the agenda are seminars about fly-fishing, angling for snook, spearfishing, kayak fishing, lure techniques, and scuba diving and snorkeling. For a schedule, visit www.tampabayboatshows.com.
