SEMINOLE – The Seminole City Center continues to add to its list of industry-leading tenants by signing Studio Movie Grill (SMG), an upscale leader in full-service, in-theater dining, as its next major anchor.

Studio Movie Grill is scheduled to open in spring 2017, also the projected completion date for the entire Seminole City Center project. The center is the site of the former Seminole Mall, Park Boulevard and 113th Street N.

“We are excited to continue our expansion into the Florida market,” Studio Movie Grill CFO Ted G. Croft said. “SMG not only transforms the typical cinema experience, but also offers a community gathering place alongside dinner and a movie. We look forward to meeting our new neighbors and introducing them to our concept.”

Studio Movie Grill is not a traditional movie theater. It combines affordable, reserved seating with a fresh dining experience. Studio Movie Grill offers an American grill menu, signature cocktails, spirits and microbrews and provides service throughout the movie.

Studio Movie Grill (SMG) modernized the traditional movie-going experience by combining first-run movies with full-service, in-theater dining. Established in 2000, SMG has swiftly grown to 24 locations in 10 states. SMG, long considered the leader of in-theater dining exhibition, recently announced a major expansion initiative with plans for additional sites throughout the country. With the addition of more than 50 new screens this year, SMG now ranks as the 20th largest exhibitor in the United States.

“Studio Movie Grill brings a level of unique, upscale service to Seminole City Center,” said Jeff Preston, Managing Partner of North American Development Group, which is redeveloping the site in partnership with Primerica Group One. “Not only will Seminole residents have a movie theater again, but it will be a theater experience like they won’t find anywhere else in Pinellas County.”

Studio Movie Grill joins several other well-known companies that have already signed as tenants at Seminole City Center, including: Earth Fare, Ulta, Stein Mart, Bealls, Homegoods, Kirkland’s, LA Fitness, Petco, Hand & Stone Massage, Burger Fi and Pieology. “We are also working to complete several major restaurant deals and hope to announce those exciting names in the near future,” said Preston.
