Pinellas County sheriff’s investigators say both speed and alcohol seem to be a factor in the one-vehicle crash.

SEMINOLE -Pinellas County deputies say a man and his wife were injured early Sunday (June 14) when they were thrown from a motorcycle after the driver lost control.

Taken to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries were Staz Guntek, 48, and his wife, Denise Guntek, 51, of St. Petersburg, according to deputies.

Guntek and his wife were southbound on Seminole Boulevard near Bay Pines Boulevard about 1:30 Sunday (June 14) morning, deputies said. Guntek, who was driving, tried to overtake a vehicle on the right. He went off the road onto the grassy shoulder and lost control of the 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which started sliding on its side. Both he and his wife were thrown from the motorcycle.

Investigators said it appears that both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. Both were wearing helmets. The investigation is continuing. For information, see pscoweb.com.
