In Safety Harbor, a Santa Claus Drill Team to Celebrate the Fourth

The day’s events kick off with a parade, progress to patriotic music and end with – what else? – fireworks.

SAFETY HARBOR – The American Legion Auxiliary will host a patriotic parade down Main Street starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Wear your red, white and blue and be ready for a good time. To enter a float in the parade or for information, call (727)726-9601.

Immediately after the parade, a free Fourth of July patriotic ceremony will start at the Gazebo in John Wilson Park, 401 Main St. The event will include live patriotic music, free patriotic wristbands, drill team photos, free cookies, juice and water during  the 45-minute ceremony. Join in with city of Safety Harbor officials, American Legion officers and enjoy the special patriotic presentations performed by the Santa Claus Drill Team. For information, call (813) 230-9254.

Bring the whole family out Saturday evening for a July 4 celebration Safety-Harbor style, sponsored by Blake Real Estate. There will be children’s activities, live entertainment, food vendors and plenty of fun for the whole family. Get a good seat in the marina, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane, or the Waterfront Park because the best fireworks display in Tampa Bay goes off at exactly 9 p.m. The free event, which is open to all ages, starts at 5 p.m. and ends around 9:30 p.m.

The m will be closed from Friday (July 3) at 10 p.m. until Saturday (July 4) at 11 p.m. Bayshore will be closed Saturday from Iron Age to Main Street between 3:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
