Hip-Hop, Metal and Soul Music Will Rock Pinellas Park

Three wide-ranging music shows are slated for Friday and Saturday.

PINELLAS PARK — Get ready for some sounds: Three musical groups hit the stages Friday (Dec. 11) and Saturday (Dec.  12) as concerts come to the Park in a big way.

Two shows take place at the  England Brothers Bandshell, 5010 81st Ave. N. Gates open at 5 p.m. for both, with music scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, a rap/hip-hop group with roots in Cleveland, will lead the performance Friday. Formed in 1991, its members are Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh-n-Bone and Bizzy Bone. Quiet Riot with Dokken is scheduled to perform Saturday. Dokken’s self-description: An American heavy metal and hard rock band formed in 1978. They split up in 1989 but reformed four years later. The group accumulated numerous charting singles and has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. The band was nominated for a Grammy in 1989. There is also a sold-out Sounds of Soul: Motown’s 8 p.m. Christmas concert Friday at the Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave. N.
