Pinellas County Animal Services Needs Teen Volunteers to Walk Dogs

Dog Walking | Pet Care | Pet Welfare

Pinellas County Animal Services’ teen program allows kids to volunteer at the animal shelter to get work experience and community service hours.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Animal Services is seeking responsible teen volunteers to help leader volunteers with dog walking. Teens must be between the ages of 15 and 17 and must complete nine hours between March 30 and April 4. The Pinellas County Animal Services Teen Program is designed to prepare teens in the community for future leadership roles, create a sense of motivation and teach skills that will enable teens to grow into responsible adults. By working at the shelter, teens will be prepared for the work force, gain hands-on experience and earn community service hours for their Bright Futures scholarship. Students can download an online application at the Pinellas County Animal Services website at pinellascounty.org or complete the application at the Pinellas County Animal Services shelter located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Applications must be received by Monday (March 16). Space in the program is limited. For information, call volunteer coordinator Season Groves at (727) 582-2636 or email sgroves@pinellascounty.org.
