Help Shape the Future of Downtown Palm Harbor

Downtown | Palm Harbor | Pinellas County

Palm Harbor is an unincorporated area in north Pinellas that officials say has the county’s “quintessential downtown.”

PALM HARBOR – Downtown Palm Harbor is considered to be unincorporated Pinellas’ quintessential downtown, officials say.

Now county officials are asking residents to help shape the future of downtown Palm Harbor by considering this question: What do you see as downtown Palm Harbor’s primary identity?

Residents can share their ideas in several ways.

One is a short online survey on what gives downtown Palm Harbor its unique identity as part of a process to update the district’s master plan. The survey can be found on the Planning Department’s website, pinellascounty.org.

An open house is also planned for 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 26) in the cafeteria of Palm Harbor University High School, 1900 Omaha St., Palm Harbor.

Additional survey questions will be made available through the county’s web-based community engagement tool as the project progresses. Information gathered at the open house and on the website will be considered in updates to the master plan.

Adopted in 2001, the Downtown Palm Harbor Master Plan outlines key recommendations for improvements to downtown Palm Harbor. Many of these initial recommendations have been completed, some are in progress and others remain incomplete. After 15 years of implementing the plan, it is time to review the remaining recommendations and consider new ones. The currently adopted Master Plan can be found at pinellascounty.org.
