Oldsmar is hosting a historic preservation summit on Oct 21.

OLDSMAR – Celebrating the history of Oldsmar is the topic of a historic preservation summit this month. The summit, “Restoring Oldsmar – Houses and Buildings,” takes place at 1 p.m. Oct. 21 in the TECO Hall at the Oldsmar Public Library, 400 St. Petersburg Drive W. The Pinellas County Historic Preservation Board and the Oldsmar Historical Society invite the public to attend this event, which includes presentations by board and society members as well as Oldsmar city officials, Hoffman Architects and the Property Doctors of Tampa Bay. Tours of a restored 1918 airplane bungalow and the Oldsmar Bank building, built in 1919, will also be offered. The Pinellas County Historic Preservation Board develops and oversees the county’s historic preservation program, including broad education initiatives, and also reviews detailed historic landmark designations in unincorporated Pinellas County.

To register for the Oldsmar summit, go to pinellascounty.org. Space is limited. Friday (Oct. 16) is the registration deadline. For information, call (727) 464-3363. For information about the Historic Preservation Board, see pinellascounty.org.
