Welcome Our First Neighborhood Columnist and a New Feature

Ray Neri | Lealman | Lealman Community Association

TB Reporter is starting a new feature called Neighborhood Voices to allow local leaders to talk about real life and real issues in their communities.

TAMPA BAY – Ray Neri, head of the Lealman Community Association, has agreed to become the first neoghborhood columnist for TB Reporter. Ray will write a column once every month or so – or whenever something urgent comes up – about the Lealman community for our Neighborhood Voices feature.

Ray is a New York native who moved to Lealman when he was 14. He is a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and St. Petersburg Junior College (now St. Petersburg College). He served in the U.S. Navy for nine years. In civilian life, he worked as a regional sales manager for Zales. Since retiring, he has devoted himself to the improvement of the unincorporated Lealman community. His civic activities include serving on the Lealman Revitalization Team and was later elected head of the LCA, a position he has held since 1999. He also serves on the boards of Keep Pinellas Beautiful, the Tiger Bay Club  and the Sheriff’s Police Athletic League as well as on the Juvenile Welfare Board and the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council. You can email Ray at info@tbreporter.com or rneri1937@gmail.com. For information about the Lealman Community Association, see lcafl.com.

Lealman is an unincorporated area in southern Pinellas County that’s located roughly between Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg from just east of I-275 to Park Street. Kenneth City divides it into an east and west section, each of which has its own unique identity.

Neighborhood Voices is a feature that gives leaders of community groups a chance to talk about the people who live in their neighborhoods, what’s happening to them, the issues they’re facing and what’s important to them. Interested in taking part? Email TB Reporter at info@tbreporter.com or call 855-4tbnews (855-482-6397). It’s toll free. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
