Part of Seminole Boulevard to Close Temporarily

Road Closed | Road Constuction Traffic

The closure will allow Pinellas County crews to work on two water pipes.

LARGO – Pinellas County utilities crews are scheduled to begin construction on a connection between two potable water pipes at the intersection of 16th Avenue SE and Seminole Boulevard in Largo today (Sept. 6).

The construction will take about 10 days and all northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard at the intersection with 16th Avenue SE will be closed, southbound lanes will not be impacted. Alternate travel routes during construction are Clearwater/Largo Road or Starkey Road. Proper signage will be placed.

Utilities crews are connecting a 20-inch and a 36-inch pipe. This connection will provide the county’s Logan Pump Station with a better water supply to maintain adequate water quality throughout the system. A portion of the 36-inch pipe, which is the primary feeder into the pump station, was damaged during unrelated construction activities.

Pinellas County utilities’ proactive construction activity underscores a commitment to protecting and improving the quality of the drinking water provided to customers.
