The station will be built by Largo, which provides fire service to Belleair Bluffs and Belleair.

BELLEAIR BLUFFS – After years of planning and development, the city of Largo and other government agency partners are ready to break ground on an intergovernmental project to build a fire station in Belleair Bluffs.

The new station will replace Fire Station 43, which is located on Indian Rocks Road inside Belleair Bluff’s city limits. The station serves residents of Largo, Belleair Bluffs and Belleair. Currently, the city of Belleair Bluffs contracts with Largo to provide fire rescue services and operate the station.

In 2011, Largo and Belleair Bluffs agreed that a new station was needed to house the Largo engine company and to respond to calls. This developed into a capital project that required support and funding from Pinellas County and Largo with the cooperation of Belleair Bluffs and Belleair. It is believed this is the first capital building project in the area to be built as a partnership between so many local government agencies.

In 2015, Largo spent about 10 months designing the new station. Now Largo is ready to begin construction. Construction is expected to take about 11 months. Construction is estimated to be done by next fall.
