The “Gecko Ball” will drop at midnight.

GULFPORT – The New Year’s Eve Gala in recent years has become Gulfport’s go-to celebration of the New Year. The event will be held at the historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom, 5500 Shore Blvd. S, Doors open at 8 p.m. tonight (Dec. 31) and the party rolls on until 1 a.m.

The waterfront Casino will be decorated to the hilt for the occasion. Non-stop dance music will be performed by Otis Velt and the Old School Band as well as DJ James. A full cash bar and drink specials will be available. Complimentary party favors and a champagne toast are included as the “Gecko Ball” drops at the stroke of midnight! Late night tapas, provided by Gulfport area restaurants, will be served at the party after 10 p.m. Dress for the evening is described as “Gulfport Formal,” leaving much to the imagination.

General admission tickets for the Gala are $35 each. Casino Club reservations are $45 each, including such extras as reserved seating with no table minimum or maximum, full private VIP bar area, exclusive Casino Club concierge service, tableside midnight champagne pour and premium party favors. Tickets are on sale at the Gulfport Casino as well as the Gulfport Beach Bazaar, 3115 Beach Blvd. S. Only cash or checks will be accepted for ticket sales. Space is limited.
