East Lake Fire Commissioner Earns Certification
Tom McKone completed 25 hours of training to earn the distinction. He is the first from East Lake to do so.
EAST LAKE – Commissioner Tom McKone has completed all training requirements for the Florida Association of Special Districts (FASD) Certified District Officials Program and is now an FASD Certified District Official.
McKone is the first East Lake elected official to earn this certification. He completed 25 required hours of training including board relations with district manager and staff, strategic planning and election, ethics, and Sunshine Law. After completing the required hours of training, McKone had to be approved by the FASD board. The title, “Certified District Official,” indicates his credentials and accomplishments.
“I am honored to receive this certification. This will help me in my duties as commissioner of the premier fire department in Pinellas County,” McKone said.
