Ready for the Eighth Annual “Running of the Wieners” in Dunedin?

Wiener dogs, that is. It’s all part of Dunedin’s Dogtoberfest on Saturday (Nov. 14).

DUNEDIN – Got a dachshund that loves to run?  Enter them in the 8th Annual “Running of the Wieners” at Dogtoberfest! Don’t have a hot-dog-dog?  Watch them race anyway.  It’s hilarious!

The race is just one event in Dunedin’s Dogtoberfest celebration. The city says Dogtoberfest is the largest pet adoption event in North Pinellas. Among the other events is the King and Queen Pledge Drive. If your dog is crowned King or Queen of Dogtoberfest they will grace the cover of all Dogtoberfest marketing materials. Also, by participating in the “King & Queen Pledge Drive” you will be helping countless animals which the  League helps throughout the year. Your dollars raised will provide necessary vet care homeless animals need in order to be placed in loving forever homes.  So join the pledge drive today, help homeless animals and get YOUR dog crowned as King or Queen of Dogtoberfest 2015!

When: 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 14)

Where: Highlander Park, 1920 Michigan Blvd.

Cost: Free admission, parking is $5.

Other information: All pets welcome. Bring a lawn chair and stay for the day. All proceeds from parking and contests go to the care of the animals at the Suncoast Animal League.
