Dunedin has added a one-mile walk to its signature Hog Hustle 5K run. It’s only one of several events in Dunedin on Saturday (May 9).

DUNEDIN – Next Saturday (May 9) is packed with events in Dunedin from the Hog Hustle to the Splash Bash and Picnic to the Mothers Day Tea.

The 5K Hog Hustle begins at 8 a.m. at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 373 Douglas Ave. Runners and walkers will follow a scenic route along Edgewater Drive and end up back at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Registration for the 5K run is $25 to pre-register and $30 on raceday. The 1-mile walk is $20 to pre-register and $25 on race day. For information or to register, see dunedingov.com or active.com. Or, call Dunedin Parks and Recreation, (727) 812-4530.

The Splash Bash and Picnic is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Highlander Pool, 1937 Ed Eckert Drive. In addition to being a good way to cool off after the Hog Hustle, this is a fun way to kick off the spring season pool style! Games and races held throughout the day; music and lunch provided. Bring the whole family. Don’t forget your towel and bathing suit for fun and games. The event is free. For information, call Dunedin Parks at Recreation at (727) 298-3266 or see, dunedingov.com.

If a 5K run and a swim aren’t enough to show Mom you care, you can always take her to the Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., for the 11th annual Mothers Day Tea. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will have homemade treats, a fashion show by Patchington Fashions and a hat display by Andrea Jarvis. There will also be door prizes and “irresistible” baskets. Seating is limited. For information, or to buy tickets ($30), see dfac.org.
