Dunedin Is Going to the Dogs for Mutt Madness

Pet Adoption | Animal Rescue | Pets and Animals

Mutt Madness, an annual event that benefits the critters at the Suncoast Animal League, includes “Ride 4 the Animals” bicycle rides.

DUNEDIN – Mutt Madness, a dog-friendly event, is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (March 14) in Highlander Park (Michigan Boulevard and Pinehurst Road), Dunedin. The event includes a pet-owner lookalike contest, a fido idol singing competition, and a dancing with the paws event. At least 29 rescues will be there with various types of animals (including skunks) for adoption.

One of the main events is the “Ride 4 the Animals,” a bicycling event with a choice of three routes: the 12-mile Sheltie route, the 31-mile Labrador route, and the 62-mile Mastiff route. All routes will begin and end at Highlander Park. Cyclists on the 31- and 62-mile routes will cruise along the Gulf Beaches and enjoy two well-stocked rest stops along the way.

Parking for Mutt Madness is $5 but admission is free. Pets are welcome.
