Road Work to Begin on Gulf-to-Bay

Traffic | Road Work | Detours

The work is a Florida Department of Transportation project.

CLEARWATER – The stretch of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard/SR 60 from Damascus Road to Highland Avenue will be under construction starting Monday (Sept. 19) through next summer.

This is a Florida Department of Transportation construction project that will involve intermittent lane closures and lane shifts. The roadway will be resurfaced, and repairs to drainage pipes and sidewalks where needed will be made. Construction activities and lane closures will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. Access to driveways and side streets will be maintained. Drivers should allow themselves more time traveling along this route during the construction period.

Other roadwork is also planned this week.

Sunset Point Road from Fort Harrison Avenue to North Washington Avenue will be closed to through traffic Wednesday (Sept. 21) and Thursday (Sept. 22) for road milling and resurfacing. Local and emergency use will be allowed only. All others should use Union Street as a detour route.

Residents with questions can call  Clearwater’s traffic operations division at (727) 562-4750.
