Groundbreaking | Development | Pinellas County Development

The Nolen is the first new rental offering in Clearwater’s urban core within the past few years and will cater to young tech district professionals looking for a cool urban environment, Pinellas County development officials say.

CLEARWATER – City, county and business officials broke ground recently on the Nolen, a much anticipated new urban rental apartment community in downtown Clearwater.

Located in the heart of downtown Clearwater and adjacent to Prospect Lake Park, the project will transform an empty lot at Cleveland Street and Prospect Avenue into an active four-story, five-building residential community encompassing 257 rental units, featuring a mix of one- and two-bedroom floor plans. The project will also include seven, ground-floor live-work studio apartments which is something unique for the downtown area, Pinellas County development officials say.

The 6.85-acre mixed-use development will offer different uses for a diverse audience and feature next generation offerings with up-to-date floor plans, finishes and the latest technology. The project will blend residential, retail and civic in a community that includes a park, lake and the full range of activities found in downtown. Other amenities will include a wifi café, fitness center, dog park, outdoor kitchen and a walking trail in the adjacent Prospect Lake Park. Construction is estimated to be completed by June 2016.
