The city’s second Downtown Funk festival includes a costume beer crawl to get folks in the Halloween spirit.

CLEARWATER – It is time to get in the Halloween spirit and Clearwater’s second annual Downtown Funk celebration will get you in that extra special spooky state with costume contests, horror makeup demonstrations and outdoor Escape Room adventures during the downtown block party that will also feature music, food and a beer crawl.

The Downtown Funk celebration will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday (Oct. 28) on the 600 block of Cleveland Street between Garden and East avenues.

The free event will feature costume contests for children and adults, pumpkin carving, trick or treat and horror makeup demonstrations featuring YouTube star Beauty by Brig. There will be music, outdoor Escape Room adventure games and a Downtown Clearwater dollar drop with coupons from the Downtown Clearwater merchants. The Downtown Funk celebration will feature food vendors and a costume beer crawl. To participate in the costume beer crawl, participants must purchase a $10 wristband at the information booth located at the corner of Cleveland Street and Garden Avenue.

The event is coordinated by the Cleveland Street Business Alliance and sponsored by the Clearwater Downtown Development Board. The city of Clearwater’s Community Redevelopment Agency is a co-sponsor of the event.
