The expansion was made possible late last month when Hernando County commissioners approved an incentive package for the company.

HERNANDO COUNTY – E-Telequote, a company specializing in the nationwide marketing and selling of Medicare insurance products, plans to expand into Hernando County opening up 70 jobs.

E-Telequote was launched in 2011 and employs 120 in the U.S. and abroad. Its Clearwater headquarters has more than 75 employees and is prepared for expansion. After considering several central Florida locations, a site in Hernando County was chosen. The company plans to negotiate a lease and renovate a facility to include an addition and a fully remodeled interior. They intend to hire 70 new employees by the end of 2016 with an average annual wage of $44,900.

“E-Telequote plans to bring 70 jobs to Hernando County by the end of 2016,” Hernando County Administrator Leonard Sossamon said. “They will be hiring licensed insurance agents, a career that for many requires a commute outside the county to work. Now they have the opportunity to work closer to home, reducing travel time and improving quality of life.”

The expansion into Hernando was made possible with a local job creation incentive of $3,000 per job was provided as allowed by the Hernando County Incentive Ordinance. The maximum incentive value is $210,000 paid over five years from fiscal year 2017 through fiscal year 2021. All incentives are performance based and paid upon documentation of employees and wages.
