Clearwater for Youth Offering College Scholarships

The scholarships are for Pinellas high school students who have participated in youth sports programs or high school sports.

CLEARWATER – Clearwater For Youth is accepting college scholarship applications from Pinellas County high school students who have participated in youth sports programs and or high school sports. A total of eight schlarships, worth $5,000 each, will be awarded to local graduating high school seniors in upper Pinellas County on Feb. 27 during the 43rd Annual Clearwater for Youth Celebrity Banquet at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach.

New this year, Clearwater For Youth will award one Pinellas County high school student the Michele Smith Gold Medal Scholarship of $5,000. Smith is considered one of the greatest softball players of all time and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in women’s softball, representing the sport internationally.

Clearwater For Youth began in 1966 with a mission to help ensure no child is turned away due to financial concerns and to elevate youth sports in the local community and beyond. CFY offers support through scholarships and grants to constructive sports programs so that children from all levels of society can play and learn together.
