True Blue Diversity Day celebrates each citizen’s uniqueness.

CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater’s Diversity Leadership Council, along with the Clearwater Police and Solid Waste departments, will host True Blue Diversity Day.

The celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (June 11) at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St. The event is free and open to the public.

True Blue Diversity Day is a celebration of every community members’ cultural uniqueness. There will be performances that include dances, poetry, live bands and singers from a variety of cultures, ethnic foods for purchase, touch-a-trucks, raffle giveaways and activities for children.

“Several cultures recognize the color blue as a symbol of tranquility, calmness, trust, honesty and peacefulness,” said LaShante Keys, the city’s diversity and equity manager. “Most importantly, the color blue represents the water that surrounds Clearwater, the serenity of our beautiful skies and the dedication from our service men and women in blue who took an oath to serve and protect us all.”
