Pinellas Sheriff | Eric Antunes | Clearwater

In addition to the 10 counts of child pornography, Pinellas detectives also charged the man with failure to register as a sexual offender.

CLEARWATER – Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies say the man had more than 60 images depicting child pornography.

Arrested at his home Thursday (May 14)  was Eric Manuel Antunes, 32, of 2893 St. John Drive, Clearwater. Antunes was charged with  10 counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of failure to register as a sexual offender. Antunes was previously convicted in 2013 for possession of child pornography after being arrested by the Clearwater Police Department, according to deputies.

Sheriff’s deputies say their investigation began Jan. 27 after receiving a tip that Antunes was in possession of child pornography. A search warrant was obtained by detectives and served at Antunes’ residence Thursday (May 14). During the execution of the search warrant, detectives took possession of multiple electronic devices belonging to him. Deputies say the investigation has revealed that Antunes was in possession of more than 60 images depicting child pornography. Through various investigative techniques it was also discovered that Antunes possessed various email addresses and had not registered those emails with the sexual predator offender tracking unit as his sex offender status required him to do.

Antunes was charged and taken to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. The investigation continues. For information, see pcsoweb.com.
