Pinellas County deputies say they were told of the incident Friday (April 3) by witnesses.

CLEARWATER – Pinellas County deputies say they were called about 11 p.m. Friday (April 3) to a private home in the unincorportated Clearwater area after complainants reporterd witnessing a man commit a sexual battery on a 15-year-old girl. When deputies arrived, they say the suspect had left the residence. Deputies say the man returned a short time  later and surrendered to deputies. Deputies say the man knew the victim. Deputies are not releasing any more information that might identify her.

Arrested and charged with sexual battery on a minor was James Rodriguez, 44, of 1623 S Prescott Ave., Clearwater. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. The investigation is continuing. For information, see pcsoweb.com.
