Clearwater to Hold Wellness Walk

Participants can choose a one-, two- or three-mile walk and win prizes.

CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater’s Countryside Recreation Center will hold a community wellness walk to support the city’s dedication to healthy living and encourage residents to be more active.

The event will be held at 9 a.m. April 11 at the Countryside Recreation Center, 2640 Sabal Springs Drive. Participants may choose from a one-, two- or three-mile walk, with a ticket for a chance to win prizes given for each mile completed. Prizes include gift cards to the Brown Boxer, Palm Pavilion, Cody’s Original Roadhouse, Costco, tickets to a Threshers baseball game, a round of golf for four at the Country Club Golf Course, or a free annual city of Clearwater play pass.

Registration through Saturday (April 4)  is $3, then $5 through the day of the event. Proceeds from the walk will support the facility’s summer youth programs. Each walker will receive a T-shirt. The first 100 people to register will receive a Clearwater water bottle or beach ball. For information, call  (727) 669-1914.
