Pinellas Sheriff Accuses Largo Woman of Stabbing Man

The woman’s boyfriend is accused of helping her cover up the crime, according to Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Largo woman is accused of stabbing a man inside a car at Walsingham Park, according to Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies.

Erin R. Jackson, 26, is charged with attempted second degree murder. Her boyfriend, Kenneth T. Hoover, 32, was also arrested. He was charged with being an accessory after the face to attempted murder, deputies said. Both live at 301 Seacrest Drive in Largo.

Deputies said the incident happened about 6 p.m. Saturday (April 16) at Walsingham Park, 12615 102nd Ave. N. Witnesses told deputies they heard the victim, Richard Richardson, 21, also of Largo, scream that he had been stabbed. They said they saw him crawl from the front passenger seat across the driver’s seat and out the driver’s side door of a gray car. The witnesses said they saw the car, driven by a female, back out of a parking space and flee at a high speed south through the park.

The witnesses called 911 and helped Richardson, who had a stab wound to the upper chest, until paramedics arrived on scene. An ambulance took Richardson to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life- threatening injuries.The weapon was found at the scene.

Deputies identified Jackson as the woman driver and asked that she and Hoover come to sheriff’s headquarters, 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo, for an interview.

Deputies said Jackson admitted stabbing Richardson. They said she told them she had known Richardson for about a year and that he was her source for illegal drugs. According to investigators, Jackson picked up Richardson at Poor Bob’s convenience store and the two drove to the park where she would allegedly purchase drugs from him. Detectives say that upon arrival at the park, the two engaged in an altercation at which time she stabbed him with her pocket knife. Deputies said Jackson told them that Richardson was not armed and did not make any threatening statements to her.

Hoover said that Jackson had called him and told him she had been attacked. He admitted to helping her with a change of clothes and to clean out the car, deputies said.
