The Chili Blaze, put on by the Pinellas Park firefighters, benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

PINELLAS PARK – Foodies who like the hot stuff will find a welcoming place this Friday (March 18) when the 16th firefighters Chili Blaze kicks off.

The event is the main fundraiser for the Pinellas Park firefighters. Proceeds go to benefit local Tampa Bay kids living with muscular dystrophy. This money will send the kids to summer camp and supply families with medical equipment to ensure every kid living with MD achieves a higher quality of life.

If you’re not a real chili fan, you’ll be able to find plenty to do with music by Big Brother, a fireworks show, a “huge” bike show and more. An added attraction this year will be a city-sponsored carnival that will be going on at the same time on the same property.

Admission to the Chili Blaze and carnival are free as is the entertainment. All-you-can-eat chili armbands are $10. The price varies on carnival rides, beer sales and other foods. It’s 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday (March 18) at the England Brothers Bandshell and Park, 5010 81st Ave. N.
