No charges have been filed in the accident, which happened early this morning (July 19).

PASCO COUNTY – A Dade City man who was standing in the roadway was killed this morning (July 19) when he was hit by a car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jose David Funes, 30, of Dade City was standing in the outside lane of U.S. 301 near Long Avenue about 12: 20 this morning when he was struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram driven by Juan Martin Ibarra, 29, also of Dade City, who was traveling northbound.  Mr. Funes died at the scene. No charges have been filed. It is unclear if Mr. Funes had been drinking, according to the FHP.
