Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

PASCO COUNTY – A New Port Richey man died late Tuesday (July 26) when he was struck by a car while walking on a street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP is withholding the man’s name until the next of kin are notified.

Troopers said the accident happened about 10:48 p.m. on U.S. 19 N at Dipaola Drive. Dominick Corigliano Sr. was driving a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country north on U.S. 19. The unidentified man was walking in the street at the south end of the intersection where there is no crosswalk, troopers said. The Chrysler hit the pedestrian who died at the scene, they said.
