The child drowned in an above-ground pool in his yard, Pasco deputies said.

SPRING HILL – Pasco Sheriff’s deputies said they are investigating the drowning death of a 2-year-old child.

Preliminary information indicates the 2 year old and a 6-year-old sibling were playing in their yard in the 14900 block of Little Ranch Road on Tuesday (May 24). Parents heard the older child screaming and found the younger child in an above-ground pool on the premises, deputies said. Fire Rescue transported the child to a local hospital where the child was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m.
