Two children in the car and the driver of the other vehicle are in serious condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

PASCO COUNTY – A Dade City woman was killed and three others were seriously injured Tuesday (Aug. 2) in a Pasco traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sharon A. Sampson, 54, of Dade City, died at the scene. Two children who were in the car with her, Donovan and Karley Penticoff, 8 and 9, also of Dade City, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, George M. Anderson, 52, of Auburndale, was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital. All three had serious injuries, the FHP said.

The crash happened about 7:35 p.m. on Old Lakeland Highway near the intersection of Morningside Drive. Ms. Sampson was driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 north on Old Lakeland when she crossed into oncoming traffic. The Infiniti collided nearly head-on with the 2012 Dodge Ram driven by Anderson. It is unclear, the FHP said, why Ms. Sampson crossed the center line.
