Chores at the Oakcrest Pet Cemetery include raking and cleaning markers and statues.

LAND O’ LAKES – The Oakcrest Pet Cemetery is in need of some TLC and Pasco County is hoping community members can help.

The Pasco County parks, recreation, and natural resources department will be hosting a volunteer cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday (July 30). Individuals, social clubs and civic groups interested in helping can call 813.929.1220 to sign up for this community project.

Volunteers are needed to rake leaves, remove debris, clean markers and statues, and help with other efforts to improve and beautify the cemetery. The Oakcrest Pet Cemetery is located at the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway.

“Pasco County has been focusing resources on the cemetery – replacing landscaping timbers and trimming shrubs and trees. Assistance from the community will help beautify the cemetery even further,” says Parks and Recreation Manager Brian Taylor. “We believe there are a lot of folks out there who would like to give back to the community and be part of this special project.”

Anyone who would like to volunteer for this community project can call the Land O’Lakes Recreation Complex at (813) 929-1220 or go to pascocountyfl.net.
