Yes, they run at midnight in this traditional event that takes place late July 3 and early July 4 morning.

DUNEDIN — The money-saving online registration for the Kiwanis Virginia Street Dermatology Midnight Run has been extended to 10 a.m. Saturday (July 2). To register online, go to http://www.kiwanismidnightrun.com/.  Other information about the race, including registration fees, also is available at that web site.

The 37th Annual Event, among the oldest running events in Pinellas County, actually consists of three races. A one-mile walk/run is at 11 p.m. Sunday (July 3). A 5K run starts at 11:25 p.m. Sunday. The main event, a 10K race, begins at 12:15 a.m. Monday (July 4).

Registration at the venue starts at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The venue is 2602 Bayshore Blvd. in Dunedin,  in front of Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch Store. Parking will be available at Causeway Shopping Center, but that lot usually fills by 10:15. South of Causeway Boulevard, there are several parking lots and parking is available along S Paula Drive.  Law enforcement will close Causeway Boulevard to trafrfic at about 10:30 p.m. 

Officials expect total participation in the three races to reach about 2,500.
