Speed and weather may have contributed to the crash, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

SEMINOLE – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Monday (July 31) morning on Seminole Boulevard, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Gregory P. King, 42, of Largo, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet, deputies said. The driver of the car, Debra R. Morton, 56, of Madeira Beach, was not injured.

The crash happened about 9:44 a.m. in the southbound curb lane in front of Softails Eatery and Pub, 6032 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole.

King was driving his 2012 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Seminole Boulevard, approaching the entrance to Softails. Morton, who was driving a 1997 Oldsmobile Ciera, was making a left
turn from the northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard into the Softails parking lot when the two collided. Deputies said both drivers tried to avoid the collision. King was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact with the Oldsmobile.

Alcohol and impairment are not factors, deputies said. Speed and weather may have contributed to the crash.
